but we will see both mitt romney and paul ryan out here in just a few moments, carol. >> ok. so two things. first of all, tell us the mood after the rnc. and tell us if there's any backlash to clint eastwood. >> well, they're feeling very good after last night. they feel like obviously you're going to hear this from the campaign. but they feel like that mitt romney did very well last night. the thing that they wanted to communicate, and i think that this was a very big part of the speech, was that there is a reason, they say, for voters who voted for barack obama to now switch over to mitt romney. that line that he gave last night about how, you know, maybe the best feeling that you had is when you voted for barack obama. that's a theme that i think we'll hear mitt romney and paul ryan carrying out in the next several days. as for clint eastwood, yes, you're right. a lot of people are sort of shaking their heads and saying, what was that all about last night? you could say that clint eastwood certainly had a sudden impact if i may use one of his movie titles there, but the ca

if something happens to ryan -- to romney, god forbids, he would be the person in charge. in fact, he voted no against withholding $359 million to the world bank which is the exact same amount of money the world bank loans to iran. that was done as a way of creating sanctions on iran. paul ryan voted no against that measure. so if you look at his record, you don't see a person who really has a leg to stand on in criticizing the president when it comes to iran and israel. >> will, do you know of new sanctions that governor romney wants to impose on iran to stop them from going forward to produce these nuclear weapons? >> well, as you know, carol, i think l.z. mentioned earlier, this is kind of an important time to be sorting out what's going on in that area of the world, right? israel and iran's relationship is integral. will there be no sanctions? i don't know. i know the conversation is where will you set your red lines? where will you tell iran you can go no further? i'll say this. i think both president obama and mitt romney are fuzzy on this. they keep moving. is it wh

i am told that governor romney's new running mate paul ryan will be around iowa in the next few days and he is one of the congressmen standing in the way. so if you happen to see congressman ryan, tell him how important this farm bill is to iowa and the rural communities, because we have to put politics aside when it comes to doing the right thing for rural america and for iowa. now, it is always a problem waiting for congress. so in the meantime, i have made sure that my administration led by tom vilsack is doing everything that we can to provide relief for those who need it. last week we announced $30 million the help ranchers and farmers to get more water to livestock and to land because of the drought, and now we will help by purchasing over $150 million of meat and fish while it is low and freeze it for later, but we have a lot of freezers. that way, that will help ranchers, you know, who are going through the tough times right now, and also over the long term obviously that food is going to be spent by folks at the pentagon and other places. america depends on farmers and ranch
